Bow Hunt South Africa is the result of a friendship and partnership between African Barefoot Safaris and Ehlathini Game Lodge which allows us to provide exceptional adventures for our clients. Here is a little background.
African Barefoot Safaris is a family owned and operated outfitter and Professional Hunter based in Limpopo province, South Africa and was established in 2010. Reon and Elmay van Tonder and their family are native South Africans and have been involved in hunting and the local community all of their lives. Their vision is to make every South African safari an unforgettable life experience. Custom hunting packages, other activities and special events are all part of their service.
Ehlathini Game Lodge is a family-owned Lodge facility that was purchased by Chad and Carolyne Markus. Chad and Carolyne are American citizens residing in Minnesota. After many years of coming to South Africa and hunting with Reon and Elmay, they fell in love with area and the people and decided to make the bushveld part of their lives. When the adjoining property to Reon and Elmay came up for sale, they jumped at the opportunity to turn a friendship into a business partnership with the mutual goal of offering exceptionally catered private hunting adventures.

While we cater to the unique requirements of bow hunting, there are many hunting options for both bow and firearms hunters. With over thirty different species of animals to hunt ranging from the smallest of species to the most dangerous of big game, we can create a custom hunting experience that will leave you with great memories and trophies to remember them by.

The team of Professional Hunters at African Barefoot Safaris takes pride in hunting top-quality animals and sharing the entire safari experience with clients. Whether hosting clients for plains game or dangerous game hunts, they offer specialized hunts and color variants on many plains game species. They provide guidance and assistance to hunters of all levels, including children.

Bow Hunt South Africa takes care of all permit arrangements and paperwork for exportation, as well as transportation, including airport transfers, hunting vehicles, and transport for side tours and activities. The Lodge provides all meals and drinks, with lunch packs and cooler boxes packed daily. The Lodge chef can also prepare any animal harvested by clients.
The Lodge welcomes friends and family as observers on the safari. The relaxing and safe environment of the Lodge offers an excellent break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, with opportunities to catch up on reading and observe animals in their natural habitat. Evenings are spent around the campfire, enjoying game meat, ice-cold beverages and local wine while admiring the mesmerizing South African sunsets and a sky full of stars.
